Five Micropoems by Sabyasachi Nazrul

The Metal Bird
Standing on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea
Waiting for you
You will come riding
on the wings of a metal bird
The metal bird brought you
down to Alexandria!

Cannot Wait
No no no
The journey is not over
Cannot wait!
The boat leaked
As the water enters little by little
I sank to the bottom of the sea!

Waiting
Dewdrops on the tip of the grass
Waiting for a kiss
on the lips of the holy rose
Just you and me
Come on, hug me...!

At the Sea
I went out one night
without telling you
At the sea
The journey is unending
Do you keep the door open today?

Do Not Delete
The right to knock
on the door of the mind
I lost when I was not in you!
Not in existence
do not delete the memory!

A Piece of Bread, A Micropoem by Angela Kosta

A piece of bread
To fill your stomach
For day and night;
Life Partner,
Who screams miserable existence,
Wait, just wait,
It will end in a short time!
To be born
Defeated by cruel fate
Whose fault is all this?
Am I guilty of myself?
Were we unwanted by God?

Five Micropoems by Tasneem Hossain

Life
The sun shines, sets again;
Rainbow disappears, reappears again;
Sorrows come with mighty blows,
Giving way to happiness aglow;
Life is a blend of sorrows and pain;
Love and laughter you will regain.
Nothing in this world will forever remain.

Stay Bold
Behold her beauty-
Butterflies can't resist.
Bright and brilliant-
Beauty at its best.
Stay bold and blissful
My beautiful babe!

Phoenix Rises
Seeds, buds, petals
Flowers bloom on trees
Phoenix rises!

Rippling
Stars in sky-
Lovers kiss on tumbling boat
Rippling sea waves!

The Show Goes on
I sit blindfolded, as I see:
Puppets dance on whims of masters.
Hooded monkeys jump to catch the ball;
Masquerading ladies sip tea, lavishly, indoors.
Gossip and bicker fake eyelashes curl.
The drummer beats the drum;
The rat steals from indoors.
I sit blindfolded
the show goes on...!

A Violent Wave, A Micropoem by Intizor Samandarova

There is a flash in the eyes,
Fire in the heart,
My heart is full of excitement,
And longing for happiness,
There is trust in heart,
No place for fear,
I am ready for a violent wave!

Three Micropoems by Nolcha Fox

Juice
Every word a tiny knife
that slashed deep chasms
in her skin.
The day squeezed grapefruit
in the cuts, and how
they burned, they burned.

Dangling
Conversations swim away.
I try to lure them with a worm
that dangles, wiggles,
doesn’t catch a thing.
What He Is
He is a sonic boom
wrinkling my walls.
He is a disco ball
reflecting the sun.
He is a bullet
searching for the sky.
He is an oil slick
evading the record of his misdeeds.
[A note by poetess Nolcha Fox :-
Thanks to Carly M Cherry’s poem, "They Tried to Race the Moon" for some of the words and images I used.]

Three Micropoems by Dr. H. C. Zbigniew Roth

My Geraniums
Morning
raindrops are falling on the streets today
they clean the facades of all houses from dust
sunburnt geraniums on balconies
in the September rain, they raise their temples!

South
Need not be afraid of the cloudy sky above them!
today swayed by gusts of gentle wind
staring at the gray over the colorful green
on the stage of the theater of our weekday!

Evening
When in the evening dark clouds cover the sky above them
with the sparks of my happiness, I will light up the sky above
I will share the rainbow of my smile with everyone
it can make the leaven of happiness in our hearts!
