Eclipse

A thin line of eclipse

An impressive speck

Or a complete skew

This is how it threatens

My half-dozed mind

Shall ponder over

On the looming large rumination

Intertwines mind and heart

With a stark contrast

Let the battle decide

Whether the shadow fades or truth abides.

Alert!!

I wish

Our promises 

Should have a track 

Of long-lasting bring-off

Our shabby desires

In the backwoods of mind

Often goes off-track

Yet our senses

Call aloud

For a sense of self 

Altering...

Be serious!

Nishat Jabeen is an Indian poet. At present she works and lives in the heart of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. She is a language teacher. Apart from English poetry she is an acclaimed urdu poet. She works as Admin in three poetry groups namely Konect E-Zine, Zoq e shayeri and Urdu Adab ki duniya. She has authored two English Poetry books i. e. Cicatrix and Micro Beads.
