our love is well-worn - 
I take it from the shelf
and feel its heft
 □

finally we made 
an honest woman 
of each other


people ask me
who wears the trousers 
I tell them I don't own a skirt

Penny Lowery is a micropoet and retired acupuncturist from Devon, UK. She lives with her wife, the artist Eileen Gardner Bonner, and they often collaborate on artworks that give rise to ekphrastic poems. They have been together thiirty-two years.
