Four Micropoems by Bharati Nayak

Rain
The sky darkened
Rain lashing
window panes
I sip hot coffee!

Rainbow
A dark cloud hangs
Golden sun rays
scattered
A rainbow appear!

A Cuckoo
Sweltering Summer
Concrete roads slither
A cuckoo coos!

Night
Night falls slowly
Trees, mountains, rivers
disappearing
Stars twinkle
in the sky!
