Eclipse
A thin line of eclipse
An impressive speck
Or a complete skew
This is how it threatens
My half-dozed mind
Shall ponder over
On the looming large rumination
Intertwines mind and heart
With a stark contrast
Let the battle decide
Whether the shadow fades or truth abides.

I wish
Our promises
Should have a track
Of long-lasting bring-off
Our shabby desires
In the backwoods of mind
Often goes off-track
Yet our senses
Call aloud
For a sense of self
Altering...
Be serious!

Nishat Jabeen is an Indian poet. At present she works and lives in the heart of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. She is a language teacher. Apart from English poetry she is an acclaimed urdu poet. She works as Admin in three poetry groups namely Konect E-Zine, Zoq e shayeri and Urdu Adab ki duniya. She has authored two English Poetry books i. e. Cicatrix and Micro Beads. Her writing is centered around the metaphysical realm yet she admires each piece poetry from another genre as well.
